Dries Criel
INTREPID.
Dries Criel is a Belgian jewelry designer based in Antwerp, known for his bold, contemporary designs that blend influences from his background in classical and modern dance, architecture, and Ancient Egypt. Born in Ghent, Criel spent much of his youth immersed in ballet and contemporary dance before transitioning to jewelry design after a formative student job with a diamond dealer in Antwerp, one of the world’s diamond capitals. He launched his eponymous jewelry brand in 2018, quickly gaining recognition for his genderless, architectural pieces that reinterpret classic forms with strong geometric lines, vibrant colors, and symbolic motifs drawn from Egyptian mythology.
Criel’s work is handcrafted in Antwerp by master artisans, using fully traceable gold, natural diamonds, precious stones, and hand-painted enamel. His signature collections, such as the Lotus, are celebrated for their sculptural elegance and fluidity, reflecting both his dance heritage and fascination with historical symbolism.
