18K white gold, rhodium-plated, 19.891 g, with platinum · 4 larimar, navette and pear cabochon · 36 turquoise spheres, graduated, 2.00–5.50 mm · 28 × 43 × 16 mm

A curve of pale larimar and thirty-six graduated turquoise spheres, set in white gold and platinum. The line runs from a marquise stone at the top down to a pear-cut one below, the turquoise shrinking in size as it follows the arc — echoing the old legend of a winter sea so calm a kingfisher could nest on it.

Larimar only comes from one place in the world, the Dominican Republic, and its hardness varies within a single stone. Cutting it means adjusting technique as you move across the surface, which is part of why each piece looks slightly different from the next.
